On a cold summer evening in Ocean Shores, Washington, July 26, 2014, the peaceful beach scenery was suddenly broken by frantic cries for help. Waves surged higher than usual, and in their grip, four young lives were struggling, caught in a fierce rip current that pulled them farther from shore with each passing second.

About Paul

Renelle Paul Alimoren, an 18-year-old with a heart as vast as the ocean itself, heard their cries. He saw the terror in their eyes and felt the weight of their fear. Without hesitation, he dashed toward the water. Paul, as his friends call him, wasn’t just a strong swimmer; he had a deep sense of purpose. To him, life was a gift meant to be given back, and he believed every heartbeat had the potential to make a difference.

That Day...

The ocean fought him with all its might, yet Paul pushed forward. He reached the first of the struggling swimmer, his 16-year-old sister who barely kept her head above the water. With strong, reassuring arms, Paul helps her up. Whispering words of encouragement as he guided her toward safety. As soon as his sister was secure, Paul turned back. Three more young lives were still in danger.

He swam back into the turbulent waves, each trip draining his strength but never his resolve. He brought a second teenager to shore, then a third. With every return to the deep, he knew the risks, but his commitment was unshaken. The last child, a young boy, was exhausted, his energy fading quickly, Paul reached him just in time, holding him up and making sure he felt safe in his arms, they were close to the shore, but the ocean’s strength grew relentless.

In a final act of selflessness, Paul thrust the boy forward, giving him the momentum to escape the pull of the waves and made it to safety. He knew he was running out of strength, but his focus never wavered. When the last teenager’s feet touched solid ground, Paul’s body gave in to the ocean’s hold.

The young people he saved watched in awe and sorrow as the waves carried their hero away. Paul’s last moments were a powerful testimony to his character. His actions were a gift of life, born of a heart that understood the true meaning of sacrifice. Paul Alimoren’s legacy lives on in the lives he saved, in the memories of all who knew him, and in the mission his family continues to pursue-helping children in need to find hope, courage, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

In that unforgotten moment, Paul didn’t just save four lives; he ignited a spark that would continue to light the way for countless others in the years to come. His heroism will forever echo in the hearts of those he saved and those who will hear his story for generations.

In the aftermath of Paul Alimoren’s sacrifice, his family, with the encouragement of  a missionary brother; felt a calling to honor his legacy in a way that would mirror his selfless spirit he embodied. They established the Renelle Paul Alimoren#42’s foundation, a private foundation dedicated to carrying forward his legacy of compassion and courage. The foundation’s mission is focused on rescuing and educating children from difficult and vulnerable backgrounds, particularly Muslim and Buddhist children, through a foundation of Christian education.
